Agata Rozga is a psychologist and leading researcher who combines computation and observational methods to develop and evaluate new technologies in healthcare settings. Having previously collaborated with the founders at Georgia Tech, she accepted the opportunity to help Diligent identify ways for hospital service robots to support members of clinical care teams in hospitals. Together with her academic colleagues, she has overseen several grants to develop novel tools for use in clinical applications. She is deeply committed to the company's vision of building robots that work side-by-side with people as valuable members of clinical care teams. Agata earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from UCLA and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Center for Behavioral Neuroscience at Georgia State University. She has spent 18 years leading observational studies of social behavior across laboratory and clinical settings. As a Senior Research Scientist at Georgia Tech, she collaborated with computer scientists and engineers to explore how sensing and computational analysis methods could be leveraged to develop new tools to measure social behaviors. There, she directed the Georgia Tech Child Study Lab, a one-of-a-kind research facility that combined state of the art in multi-modal sensing and computational analytics with behavioral research methods to develop automated methods for capturing and measuring behavior. These experiences, and her recent work with Diligent seeking to understand the needs and workflows of clinical teams in hospitals, has highlighted for Agata the importance of placing the needs of the users of new technologies at the center of the innovation process. These technologies have so much potential to improve healthcare delivery and Agata believes it is crucial that they be developed with rather than just for the people who will ultimately use them.
