The Director of Sales and Business Development works in collaboration with leadership to provide leadership and support the development of sales strategy across the Diligent Robotics hospital service robot product line. This includes the delivery of these products/services, and the management of customer success with these ongoing services. The successful applicant will be expected to support the region in sales strategy development, and proposal and presentation development. The Director of Sales and Business Development will be responsible for helping achieve revenue goals and upholding Diligent Core Values through example and coaching.


  • Business development in the assigned territory for all service lines, supporting achievement of revenue and signing goals to contribute to the client meeting its business objectives

  • Responsible for building and establishing qualified leads across all service lines

  • Responding to RFP’s in the regional market, ensuring thorough and on-time submittals

  • Participate in proposal and presentation development

  • Manage sold business on a case-by-case basis, ensuring client success

  • Contribute to thought leadership activities, both client-facing and internal


  • Knowledge of sales and marketing processes with ability to accurately scope and price potential projects

  • Experience building relationships at the C‐level in hospitals and health delivery systems

  • Ability to identify potential opportunities for Diligent at a client site and via networking

  • Maintains customer focus; demonstrates accountability for issues and resolution; commitment to excellence

  • Superior presentation skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings at the executive/board level

  • Excellent writing skills and prior experience assisting with Requests for Proposal

  • Interest in helping to develop and participate in an entrepreneurial environment

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) is strongly preferred

  • Successful sales experience in the healthcare field, preferably to hospitals

  • Familiarity with revenue cycle management services

  • Passion for understanding and driving business

  • Be flexible and a multitasker; ability to wear several hats and adapt to management direction and expectations

  • Ability to fluidly shift focus and priorities based on changing business needs

  • Enjoy technical challenges and constantly strive to improve existing systems

  • Demonstrated track record of functioning as a trusted advisor

  • Work well in teams and demonstrate experience doing so

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and strong analytical skills

  • Willingness to travel 80 to 100% within Texas market (Monday through Thursday)


  • Former IT / CIO leadership role preferred, strong regional contacts necessary

  • Experience in healthcare operations; quality measurement, informatics and performance improvement

  • Knowledge of EHR software and implementation process

  • Clinical background is a plus
